Completed cot quilt

Well, it's finally finished. Not sure who it is for yet, have a few people in mind.  So much fun to make, could easily make another, maybe in boy colours for another mum to be.  Hope you enjoy viewing as much as I liked making.

Have been in the garden lately, but am back in to quilting.  Just have one more quilt to finish, almost done, it's the batik applique one I have photos of earlier, will post a photo when it's finally complete.  Then I'll be starting a 'Farmer's wife' quilt, am busting to get started and will show the blocks when I complete each one.  Have a lovely day!

Little granny blocks

Have been working on a wee basinette quilt for a couple in our church that are soon having a baby.  I just love working with the old 1930's fabrics.  Thought you might like a little peep at what I'm up too.

Can't wait to get some borders on and get this little cutie finished. Will post a pic when it's all done.

Tauranga Patchwork and Quilters Group Exhibition

Well it's been a busy year and I haven't got a lot of quilting done, but I have been busy co-ordinating our clubs' exhibition. I've never done anything like this before so was pretty nervous about getting things right, and really didn't want to let anyone down. Thought I'd show you some pictures of it, hope you enjoy!
Got the lettering brushes out and made some signs up. Use to be a sign writer for different department stores in many years gone by, was fun to find it's a bit like riding a bike, never really forget.
Club ladies and I made a whole lot of paper flowers, bought some greenery and decorated an archway that we hired. Actually felt a bit special walking through it into the exhibition.
This is the club raffle quilt, designed by me and put together by all club ladies that wished to take part.
Entry table.
Six vendors donated other raffles too!
A quiet place to sit down with a coffee and sandwich and listen to lovely soft music and look at the quilts.
We had a mother and daughter guest exhibitor whose work was fantastic. Their names have just escaped me at the moment but will put them in when I look them up.
This is a display of some of the charity work our club does.
Our sales table.
This is a display of our 'challenge'. The theme was 'a grand entrance', some beautiful work by the ladies.
We had six vendors selling their wares. All in all it was a wonderful time. There were many prayers for it's success, and I hope no one was disappointed. Thankyou Lord for helping me get through this!!

Tuesday, May 29, 2012

Have a 'dresdan' craze going on at the moment and am trying to get this quilt finished for the Tauranga Patchwork and Quilters Group exhibition in Sept. That may sound pretty easy but I have a lot to do before the exhibition as I am helping organise it this year.
Have the boarders and quilting to do yet. Will show the final product a bit later.
Finally finished it, and put in the Tauranga Patchwork and Quilters exhibition.
These are 2 of 5 little cuties for the raffle money at the exhibition. Have nearly finished the other 3, have to make lids for them yet.

16 Pieces, soon to be 1.

Well this quilt is one in the making. Have been doing it on and off for a while now, and am up to quilting the blocks. Am going to put it together, quilt as you go. Have to sort the border out yet but, so much enjoyed making it so far. Hope you enjoy looking as much as I did making.
Hope you all had a lovely easter. God bless!

A few extras!

Loved making this Christmas wall hanging, comes out every Christmas.
I don't usually use autumn tones, but just loved making this scrappy autumn wall hanging.
Drunkards path. This was one of the very first quilts I made.
